Plant Care (“the app”, “we”) helps you identify houseplants, keep care schedules, and diagnose plant problems with AI. This policy explains what data the app handles and how. The short version: no account sign-up, no ads, no third-party analytics, and we never sell your data.
1. Data we collect
- Anonymous account ID. When you first open the app we create an anonymous Firebase Authentication account. We don't ask for your name, email, or password.
- Your plant data. Plants you add (nicknames, rooms, care schedules), care history and journal entries, and AI-generated care plans and diagnoses are stored in Google Cloud Firestore under your anonymous ID.
- Photos. When you use plant identification or diagnosis, the photo you choose is uploaded to Firebase Storage and processed by AI (see section 2). Photos stay linked to your anonymous account.
- Subscription status. Purchases are processed by Apple and managed through RevenueCat. We receive your subscription entitlement status; we never see your payment details.
2. AI processing
Photos you submit for identification or diagnosis — together with your app language — are sent through our Cloud Functions to Google's Gemini AI to generate the species match, care plan, or health diagnosis. The results are stored with your plant data. Google processes this content under its own API terms.
3. What we don't do
- No advertising and no ad SDKs.
- No third-party analytics or tracking.
- No selling or renting of your data — ever.
4. Where your data lives
Data is stored on Google Cloud in the European Union (Firestore multi-region eur3; Cloud Functions and Storage in europe-west1).
5. Notifications
Care reminders are scheduled locally on your device. We don't send marketing push notifications.
6. Retention & deletion
Your data is kept while your anonymous account exists. Deleting the app removes access to it from your device; a reinstall creates a fresh anonymous account. To request server-side deletion of your data, email us at matvey0501@gmail.com and we'll assist.
7. Children
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
8. Security
All traffic is encrypted in transit. Firebase Security Rules restrict reads and writes so each anonymous account can only access its own data.
9. Third-party services

10. Changes
If we change this policy we'll update this page and the effective date above.
